The One Thing Every Family Should Know Before Buying in Seton

Most people ask us if Seton is safe. That's not the real question. Seton is one of the most family-oriented communities in Calgary — walkable, built around a hospital, a library, and the largest YMCA in the world. The thing that actually catches families off guard isn't safety. It's school capacity.

Why school capacity is the real planning question

Seton is still building out its own schools. St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School (K–9) already operates inside the community, so Catholic families have a designated school on-site. Public (CBE) families don't have that guarantee yet — depending on capacity in a given year, kids have been designated to schools outside the community, including Lake Bonavista, until a public school is built in Seton.

Designations change annually. We check the current CBE designation for a specific address before any family writes an offer — not after they've moved in.
